Language Houses

  • Very limited parking is available on location through assignments made by Resident Staff.
  • Residents who do not receive on-site assignment may purchase S permits valid in the Orange/Storage areas at University Hall or the Emmet/Ivy Parking Garage.

Process to obtain a permit:
Permits are sold on a first come, first serve basis.The Department of Parking & Transportation (P&T) holds an on-grounds Student Permit Sales each year in August. After that sale date, permits may be purchased Monday-Friday, 7:30AM-5PM, at the P&T office located at 1101 Millmont Street. To give residents time to purchase the permit, permit restrictions are lifted in the Orange/Storage areas at University Hall during the week classes begin in the fall semester. All other restrictions like driveways, fire lanes, prohibited zones, grass/dirt, etc. are enforced normally throughout the year.

Orange/Storage Areas at University Hall:

  • The Cage lot located behind University Hall near the turf field and the railroad tracks*
  • The East Lot located between the McCue Center and the Emmet Street*

On the days of special events at John Paul Jones arena or University Hall:

S permit holders will receive a special permit valid in the Emmet/Ivy Parking Garage on the nights parking must be vacated at University Hall due to events. This special permit will allow entry into the garage beginning at 5PM on the day before an event at John Paul Jones arena. Permit holders must vacate by 7:30AM on the second day following an event to avoid a release fee from the garage.

For example, for an event on August 30, the special permit will allow entry/exit to the Emmet/Ivy Garage from 5PM on August 29. through 7:30AM on September 1. Permit holders will receive specific instructions upon purchasing the permit.
