Students Living Off Grounds
Students who live Off-Grounds are eligible for
the following types of permits:
2008/2009 Permit Type: A9 (Reserved Parking - Premium Permit)
On-Sale Date: May 27, 2008
Valid Dates: June 1, 2008 - May 31, 2009
Valid Locations: Culbreth Road Garage
Price Per Year: $588.00 (prorated $49 per month)
Details: The A9 (Culbreth Road Garage) permits will be available on a first come, first serve basis for students living off grounds. There will not be a lottery for the 2008/2009 permit year. A9 permits will be available for sale starting May 27, 2008 at the Parking and Transportation Office, located at 1101 Millmont Street, from 7:30am-5:00pm, Monday-Friday (please check the Service Schedule for holiday closings).
2008/2009 Permit Type: Blue (Commuter Parking - General Permit)
On-Sale Date: May 27, 2008
Valid Dates: June 1, 2008 - May 31, 2009
Valid Locations: Commuter Lots (U-Hall, John Paul Jones Arena, Carruthers, The Park, Police Station, Visitors Center, Rehabilitation Center, Ivy Stacks, and Fontana Food Center)
Additional Locations: A10, E1, E3, and D3 after 3:30pm
Price Per Year: $192.00 (prorated $16.00 per month)
Details: Blue permits are the most easily accessible and cheapest parking permits available to students living off grounds. Parking at University Hall and the John Paul Jones Arena is restricted during certain John Paul Jones Arena events, requiring permit holders to relocate to the Emmet/Ivy Garage. Please check the JPJ Impact Schedule frequently if you are a Blue permit holder. Blue permits will be available for sale on a first come, first serve basis starting May 27, 2008 at the Parking and Transportation Office, located at 1101 Millmont Street, between the hours of 7:30am-5:00pm, Monday-Friday (please check the Service Schedule for holiday closings).
2008/2009 Permit Type: D3 (Reserved Parking - Commuter Permit)
On-Sale Date: Information Coming in Mid-August
Valid Dates: June 1, 2008 - May 31, 2009
Valid Locations: Law School (D3 lots near Massie Road and The Park)
Price Per Year: $468.00 (prorated $39.00 a month)
Details: D3 permits are assigned by a Permit Lottery held by the Law School. Additional information will be available in mid-August. Please contact the Law School at 434-924-7354 for questions about the D3 lottery.
2008/2009 Permit Type: D10 (Reserved Parking - Darden School Garage Permit)
On-Sale Date: Information Coming in Mid-August
Valid Dates: June 1, 2008 - May 31, 2009
Valid Locations: Darden School Garage
Price Per Year: $732.00 (prorated $61.00 per month)
Details: D10 permits are only available for students enrolled in the Darden School. Student sale dates for D10 permits will be announced in mid-August. Please check back in mid-August for specific information.
2008/2009 Permit Type: D22 (Reserved Parking - Premium Permit)
On-Sale Date: Information Coming in Mid-August
Valid Dates: June 1, 2008 - May 31, 2009
Valid Locations: Law School (D22 lot off of Nash Drive)
Price Per Year: $588.00 (prorated $49.00 a month)
Details: More information will be available in mid-August.
2008/2009 Permit Type: E3 (Reserved Parking - Commuter Permit)
On-Sale Date: Allocated by Lottery (lottery is now closed, 5/12/2008)
Valid Dates: June 1, 2008 - May 31, 2009
Valid Locations: Scott Stadium (Surface Level of the Stadium Garage and near the Engineering School)
Price Per Year: $468.00 (prorated $39.00 per month)
Details: The 2008/2009 E3 Permit Lottery for students wanting to park at Scott Stadium near the Engineering School is now closed. Completed E3 Lottery forms must have been received by May 12, 2008. Faxed, e-mailed, or incomplete lottery forms will not be accepted. Winners of the Permit Lottery will be notified by U.S. Mail the week of May 16, 2008.
2008/2009 Permit Type: EIG (Reserved Parking - Commuter Permit)
On-Sale Date: May 27, 2008
Valid Dates: June 1, 2008 - May 31, 2009
Valid Locations: Emmet/Ivy Garage (Levels 1-3)
Price Per Year: $468.00 (prorated $39.00 per month)
Details: EIG permits valid at the Emmet/Ivy Garage, located behind the Cavalier Inn at the corner of Emmet Street and Ivy Road, will be available to off grounds students on a first come, first serve basis starting May 27, 2008. There will not be a lottery for 2008/2009 EIG permits.
General Information for Students Living Off Grounds
Students living off Grounds will most likely park in the Commuter
parking areas located at the Emmet/Ivy Parking Garage, Culbreth Road Garage, and at University Hall. There is limited availability for students living off grounds to park
in the more expensive Reserved lots.

Obtaining a Permit
Please review the information above for information about when and where to obtain your permit.
To allow residents ample time to purchase a permit, permit restrictions are lifted in the lots at University Hall during the first week of classes in the Fall (August 26 - 29, 2008). All other restrictions, such as parking in driveways, fire lanes, prohibited zones, grass/dirt, etc. are enforced normally throughout the year. Please review our Parking Regulations.
Student permits are NOT renewed from year to year. Students are not eligible for payroll deduction.
