UTS for McCormick Road Residents
Northline
The Northline connects North Grounds residents and West Grounds residents to Central Grounds. The Northline provides from the McCormick Road Residences to the Runk Dining Hall (from the McCormick Road Dorm bus stop) and to locations in North Grounds such as Darden, Law School, and the Barracks Road Shopping Center (from the Chemistry Building bus stop across from the McCormick Road Residences).
U-Loop (Inner and Outer U-Loop)
McCormick Road Residents can use the Inner U-Loop to return to their residences from locations near the Jefferson Park Avenue/Cabell Hall bus stop (23) such as Cabell Hall, Bryan Hall, Maury Hall, and Robertson/Rouss Hall. The Inner U-Loop may also be used to get to Newcomb Hall by getting off at the Emmet Street/Central Grounds Garage bus stop (37).
McCormick Road Residents can take the Outer U-Loop from the McCormick Road Residences to the Jefferson Park Avenue/Brandon Avenue bus stop (55) to access locations such as Cabell Hall, Bryan Hall, Maury Hall, Student Health, and Robertson/Rouss Hall.
Free Trolley (Charlottesville Area Transit)
Due to the McCormick Road bridge closure the Free Trolley will not travel along any portion of McCormick Road. Please visit www.catchthecat.org for more information regarding the Free Trolley.
The primary stops near the Hereford Residences are:
- To the Jefferson Park Avenue/Bryan Hall bus stop (55): McCormick Road Dorm (71) via the Outer U-Loop
- To Newcomb Hall and North Grounds: Chemistry Building (24) via the Northline
- Most destinations are within walking distance of the McCormick Road Residences. Virtually all buildings on Grounds have bike parking available.

2012-2013 Route: After leaving the Madison Avenue/Preston Avenue stop the Inner U-Loop will turn right onto Preston Avenue, turn right onto Grady Avenue, turn left onto 14th Street, turn left onto University Avenue, turn right onto Jefferson Park Avenue, turn left to continue on Jefferson Park Avenue, turn right onto Mimosa Drive, turn right onto Stadium Road, turn left onto Alderman Road and then turn right onto George Welsh Way to enter the Scott Stadium parking area. From Scott Stadium the Inner U-Loop will continue along George Welsh Way, turn left onto Whitehead Road, turn right onto Alderman Road, turn right onto McCormick Road to enter Central Grounds. From the Thornton Hall stop on McCormick Road the Inner U-Loop will turn left down the McCormick Road ramp onto Emmet Steet, turn right onto University Avenue, turn left onto Rugby Road, turn right onto Grady Avenue, and then turn left on Madison Avenue to return to the Madison Avenue/Preston Avenue stop.

From Scott Stadium the Outer U-Loop will turn left onto Alderman Road, continue straight onto Maury Avenue, turn left onto Jefferson Park Avenue, turn left onto West Main Street, and turn right onto 14th Street to return to the Madison Avenue/Preston Avenue stop.

2012-2013 Route: After leaving Hereford, the Northline will travel along McCormick Road, turn left onto Emmet Street, turn right onto University Avenue, turn left onto Rugby Road, and turn left onto Culbreth Road to enter the Arts Grounds. From Culbreth Road the Northline will turn right onto University Avenue, turn right onto Emmet Street, turn left onto Massie Road, and turn left onto Copeley Road to enter the U-Hall parking areas. From U-Hall the Northline will turn left onto Massie Road, turn left into the Darden Graduate School area. From Darden the Northline will turn left back onto Massie Road, continue onto Arlington Boulevard and enter the Barracks Road Shopping Center. From the Shopping Center the Northline will use the same route to return to U-Hall, Arts Grounds, and McCormick Road. From McCormick Road the Northline will turn left onto Alderman Road, turn right onto Stadium Road, and then turn right onto Hereford Drive to return to Hereford.
