Full Term Sessions:
From late August to mid-December
& From early March to mid-July

The University of Virginia Program in Perú, conducted in cooperation with the Universidad Antonio Ruiz de Montoya and other Peruvian institutions of higher education, offers US students the opportunity to enroll in regular Peruvian university courses in Spanish in architecture, arts and sciences, law, education, or engineering; to take special courses in English in anthropology, history, literature, philosophy, and sociology; or to study the Spanish language at any level.

It also affords a unique opportunity for US students to broaden their knowledge of Latin American culture through classroom study and travel and by living with Peruvian families.  All credits earned through the program are accredited by the Universidad Antonio Ruiz de Montoya or other Peruvian universities, are valid at the University of Virginia, and will be forwarded by the University of Virginia to other institutions of higher learning.

No knowledge of the Spanish language is required for participation in the University of Virginia Program in Lima, Perú, though advanced-level Spanish is required to take regular Peruvian university courses at the Universidad Antonio Ruiz de Montoya or at certain other universities in Perú in which Program students may take courses.
