University Resources

The faculty of the University of Virginia in all disciplines are deeply committed to international engagement in their research and teaching, and as a result there are many resources useful to students of comparative politics throughout the University. The list below is not comprehensive, but it suggests some of the special resources available for some topics and geographical areas.

General

The Miller Center for Public Affairs is the premier research institute for the study of the American presidency, and it sponsors a full agenda of speakers on international topics as well.

The Center for Global Health is an innovative cross-disciplinary center that encourages international research and engagement in ameliorating diseases of poverty.

The Center on Religion and Democracy is a non-partisan research center committed to addressing the complex relationship between religion and democracy.

Studies in Women and Gender is an interdisciplinary program offering an interdisciplinary program with a world perspective. It brings together a broad range of faculty with interests in related topics.

Not a part of UVA but close by Monticello is the Robert H. Smith International Center for Jefferson Studies, which sponsors international scholars in residence as well as speakers and conferences related to Thomas Jefferson.
