Stegmaierms2bu@virginia.edu Field: Comparative Politics (Central and Eastern Europe) Mary Stegmaier is an Association Dean in the College of Arts and Sciences and teaches courses in the Politics and Economics Departments. Her Research interests include the determinants of electoral participation, voting behavior, and election outcomes across democracies as well as the impact of democratic transitions on the status and political views of women. Her current research focuses on European Parliament elections in the post-communist new-member EU states. She has contributed to academic journals including the Annual Review of Political Science, Electoral Studies, Politics and Policy, and the Virginia Social Science Journal.
