Campaign Reaches $3 Billion Goal
Monday, May 20, 2013
Dear faculty and staff:
During the University's Final Exercises on Sunday, I made an exciting announcement to thousands of students and families assembled on the Lawn, and today I want to share the same news with you.
The Campaign for the University of Virginia has surpassed its $3 billion campaign goal.
We achieved this remarkable accomplishment because of the loyalty and perseverance of countless alumni, parents, and friends of the University, including many members of our faculty and staff. I am grateful for your commitment to the University's future. The support of the people who contributed to the campaign will help sustain the University for generations far beyond our own.
Even as we celebrate success in the campaign, the work of building the University's future continues. Fundraising efforts are now focused on obtaining additional support for faculty, AccessUVa, the Jeffersonian Grounds Initiative, and many other priorities.
In many ways, this campaign was one of the most ambitious in higher education. The generosity and dedication of the University community has helped us achieve a lofty goal. And now, because of this success, the University's best days lie ahead. With deepest gratitude, I thank you.
