5.3 The Office of University Development
The University development community consists of development professionals and support staff in the University Development Office, in academic units and programs, and in University-related foundations around the Grounds. To ensure University-wide coordination of prospect cultivation and solicitation, the office operates a comprehensive development information system to serve the entire development community. The University Development Office manages the University's overall relations with corporate and foundation organizations; structures approaches to individuals for the solicitation of all planned gifts including major outright gifts, life income gifts, and bequests for the benefit of any area of the University; manages the alumni/development computer network system, which provides all automated support for fund-raising and development activities; and performs a variety of functions which enhance the fund-raising capabilities of the University.

Burkett Miller Center Foundation. The relationship between the various
foundations and the University is governed by a set of management principles
and guidelines in a manner consistent with the University's purpose, mission,
policies, and procedures.
