Internal Overload for Faculty
The policy on consulting permits a faculty member to receive extra pay for responsibilities that are assumed on an overload basis within the University. An internal overload is defined as an assumed task that is clearly outside the normal responsibilities of a faculty member as determined by the dean of a school or, in the case of a dean, by the vice president and provost. The task must be in the best interest of the University, of short duration, and one the faculty member is eminently qualified to undertake (see Policy on Consulting).
