Please return (1) this application, (2) an official transcript, (3) admissions essay, (4) a previously graded essay or term paper, and (5) a brief statemen of your one or two most significan extracurricular actvities

to the Program office, Cabell Hall 248-A . Please have the professor who is recommending you to the program send his or her letter to the PST office, or via email, to Prof. Smith (mjsmith@virginia.edu) as well. Please ensure that we receive your recommendation letter by the application deadline.  We will notify you, via e-mail of admission decisions by March 31. Please put all your materials in a manila file folder with your name on the tab.

The Admissions essay should explain the intellectual content of your interdisciplinary interests and the rationale of your areas and (tentative) course choices. The essay or term paper should represent your best work, i.e. a paper you believe fairly demonstrates your analytic and expository skills.
