Welcome!
The Child Development Laboratories are
part of the Department of Psychology at the University of Virginia.
We study
how children from birth to 7 years of age come to understand the
world around them. Our research questions include:
d
- How do children
learn from picturebooks?
- How do they
learn words so quickly?
- How can
we design materials and environments to maximize learning?
We are
deeply grateful to the thousands of families in the Charlottesville
area who have participated in our research over the years. By
volunteering for one of our 30-minute studies, they have contributed
significantly to our knowledge of child development.
We
invite you to explore our website to learn more about our research
and to discover how your family can get involved.
Thanks
to friends who have linked to our site!
