FACE AIDS is a student campaign to fight AIDS in Africa. We organize fundraising and awareness campaigns on Grounds and throughout the Charlottesville community centered on the distribution of beaded AIDS awareness pins. We are working together to change the way our generation thinks about AIDS in Africa. Every student wearing his or her pin is part of a youth movement dedicated to fighting this generation's defining pandemic. We are organized for both educational and fundraising goals. The objective of this organization is to fundraise and raise awareness about AIDS in Africa, both its direct and indirect effects on those suffering from the disease, their families, and the overall community. FACE AIDS is established, furthermore, for the expressed purpose of developing leadership skills as well as an awareness of social responsibilities to encourage students to participate in public affairs.
