- Relay For Life (Fight Cancer at UVa)
Relay For Life is an overnight event designed to celebrate survivorship and to raise money for research and support programs of the American Cancer Society. Anyone can participate in this wonderful event. Team captains form teams of 10-15 people, made up of a group of friends or organization members, etc. Each participant is asked to raise at least $100 for ACS. The event is filled with fun activities, food, prizes, and great entertainment throughout the night. We are the largest student-run philanthropy at UVa! Our event offers everyone in the University community a chance to participate in the fight against cancer. Relay For Life represents the hope that those lost to cancer will never be forgotten, that those who face cancer will be supported, and that one day, cancer will be eliminated.
- Rex E. Lee Law Society
The Rex E. Lee Law Society is UVa's chapter of the J. Reuben Clark Law Society. At 48 members (as of 2012), it is the largest JRCLS chapter in the T14. Our group is dedicated to supporting the needs of incoming 1Ls through formal and informal mentoring and training. We are able to draw on the collective wisdom and diverse experience of all of our chapter members to help one another navigate this exciting yet challenging three years. We also strive to enrich the lives of our members and their families through regular activities including socials, play groups, softball games, renting a home in the Outer Banks for fall break, a Ragnar team, Tough Mudders, and much more.
