The next deadline for receipt of QC Seed Grant proposals will be Friday, March 15, 2013.
The International Political Economy Society held its 2012 Annual Meeting at the University of Virginia from November 9-10, 2012. Congratulations to David Leblang and Sonal Pandya for successfully hosting the conference!

January 30, 2013: The QC brown bag series will host our own Sarah Turner, Dept of Economics and Curry School, presenting her paper on “Expanding College Opportunities for Low-Income, High-Achieving Students.” We’ll start at 12 noon in Gibson 296.
February 19, 2013: The QC brown bag series will host our own Amalia Miller, Dept of Economics, presenting her paper on “Do Female Officers Improve Law Enforcement Quality?” We’ll start at 12:30 pm in Monroe 120.
March 27, 2013: The QC brown bag series will host Hans-Peter Kohler, Frederick J. Warren Professor of Demography at the University of Pennsylvania. The event is co-sponsored by Brad Wilcox and the National Marriage Project based here at UVA. He will speak on “Twins Data: Integrating Causality, Endowments, and Heritability.” We’ll start at 12 noon in Gibson 296.
