CMN - Course Maintenance

CMN - Course Maintenance


The course maintenance screen (CMN) is used to add/update/delete courses from ISIS.

To add a course to ISIS:

1.                   Access the available schedule numbers (CSN) screen to obtain a schedule number.

a.                  Enter the office (OREG for regular session, SUMS for summer session).
b.                  Enter the term (in the form of YYS, for example 001 for spring 2000).
c.                  Select (PF12) and a list of available numbers will appear.
d.                  Choose a schedule number, record it with your course information and go to the CMN screen.

2.                   Enter the schedule number and press PF12.  If course information appears, that schedule number is in use.  Choose another number using the process in #1.

3.                   Enter the schedule number and press PF12.  If no course information appears, then the schedule number is available for use.

4.                   You must enter the following information:
 
¨       Office
¨       Action (a for add, u for update, d for delete)
¨       Course Title (30 characters maximum)
¨       Course Mnemonic
¨       Course Number
¨       Section Number
¨       Credit Hour Low
¨       Credit Hour High
¨       Dept Abbreviation
¨       Auth Enrollment (authorized enrollment)
¨       Type Course
¨       Type Instruction
¨       Crs Faculty Group
¨       Grading Method
¨       Bldg (building in which course will be taught)
¨       Room Nbr
¨       Meeting Days (MTWRF)
¨       Begin Time (24 hour clock)
¨       End Time (24 hour clock)
¨       Instructor Number
¨       Begin Date (usually semester dates during fall/spring)
¨       End Date (usually semester dates during fall/spring)
 
5.                   After you have entered all the information for the course, press PF6 to make the update.
6.                   If any required fields are missing, you will receive an error message at the bottom of the screen.

7.                   Use the help screens if you don't know which information is required for the fields.
