The Privacy Act
When a student is admitted or readmitted, access to ISIS is activated and a student record appears on the database automatically. When a student is admitted or readmitted late, and there is not sufficient time before registration to process the student in the normal fashion, you will have to complete an admitting document and send the student to the UREG (Office of the University Registrar). On other occasions, you will need to submit a non-resident form.

Biographic Data Form
When a student is admitted late to a school, complete a Biographic Data form. This form contains the information we need to create a new student record--name, I.D. number, address, birth date, ethnic origin, residency status, school of enrollment, and degree program. Once UREG (Office of the University Registrar)) has processed this form (which we do while the student is waiting), student access to ISIS is activated.

Attendance Create Form
When a student is readmitted to a school, it is not necessary to provide all the information required on a Biographic Data form, and an Attendance Create form will suffice. This is a simplified version of a Biographic Data form, requiring only the student's name and I.D. number, school of enrollment, and degree program. We process this form while the student waits, resulting in instantaneous access to ISIS.

Non-Resident Form
When a student has completed all coursework but has not yet graduated, it may be possible to register as a non-resident at a reduced tuition rate. This "holding fee" does not give the student any University privileges and assumes that the student is not making use of University facilities or faculty time. It is most often used by graduate students finishing up their dissertations or undergraduates finishing up some incompletes.

To register as a non-resident, students must notify their dean's office. The fee can be paid directly to the dean's office, who will forward payment to Student Financial Services and the blue non-resident form to UREG (Office of the University Registrar). If a student has been a non-resident the previous semester, the UREG (Office of the University Registrar) will assume the same status for the current semester, in which case the student will receive a bill for the non-resident fee and can forward payment directly to the bursar's office. The important thing for UREG (Office of the University Registrar) is that we get the blue non-resident form.

On the non-resident form, fill in the student's name and I.D. number, degree program, the non-resident course schedule number (from that semester's Course Offerings), and, if the student is graduating at the end of the semester, the degree candidacy code. The registration type (NLV) is pre-printed on the form. Be sure to correct the student's address on ISIS if you believe it has changed.

Summer and Special Academic Programs
Registration for summer courses is through the Summer and Special Academic Programs office, located in Garrett Hall. Current University students should notify the Summer and Special Academic Programs office before the end of spring semester of any intent to enroll for one of the Summer and Special Academic Programss to allow us to prepare registration materials in advance. Students who do not notify Summer and Special Academic Programs in advance can still take summer courses, it just requires a bit more of their time to process paperwork. Summer attendance requires payment of tuition in full on the day of registration.

Students can use ISIS to check summer grades and schedules, but not to make adds or drops, which must be made in person at the Summer and Special Academic Programs Office or scheduled registration site.
