J.D.-M.S. (Accounting) Program

Persons admitted to the School of Law can earn both the J.D. and M.S. in Accounting degrees. Individuals must apply for admission to the Graduate School of Arts and Sciences in the usual manner. Commerce studies usually begin after one year in the School of Law. Students must meet all of the requirements specified by the respective schools. A student may receive up to 12 of the 86 credits required for the J.D. degree by successful completion of graduate level work in the Department of Commerce. Similarly, a student may receive up to six of the 30 credits required for the M.S. degree for successful completion of course work in the School of Law. Law students completing the M.S. program also have the option to write a thesis for six credits, reducing the coursework requirement to 24 credits, six in the School of Law and 18 in Commerce.
