Departmental Degree Requirements

Candidates for the Doctor of Philosophy degree are required to complete an approved program of courses selected from the following: cell biology; molecular biology; general physiology (PHY 704, 806); neuroscience (NESC 706); biochemistry; mathematics, statistics, physical science; instrumentation; advanced graduate courses; physiology seminar; pharmacology; research.

An accelerated Ph.D. program for candidates with an M.D. degree is also offered.

Note   Emphasis is placed on flexibility in the program. Each studentís program will be tailored to the needs and desires of the individual student.
