Fund for Excellence in Science and Technology (FEST) Distinguished Young Investigator Grant

As part of the University's 2020 Science and Technology initiative, the Office of the Vice President for Research administers the Fund for Excellence in Science and Technology (FEST) internal grant program for junior faculty research projects.

The 2007 FEST Distinguished Young Investigator Grant program is open to junior faculty members (tenure track and non-tenure track) in the first three years of their appointment (that is, appointments starting Fall 2005 for July 2008 awards) from science and engineering departments in the College of Arts & Sciences, the School of Engineering and Applied Science, and the School of Medicine. The 2008 deadline was February 20.

External Funding

Note: The Office of the Vice President for Research (VPR) coordinates limited submission proposals to private foundations, federal agencies, and other outside sponsors. Typically, we issue requests for internal preliminary proposals well in advance of a sponsor's deadline, oversee internal review with a standing committee of faculty members appointed by the Vice President for Research and Graduate Studies, and as necessary, assist applicants with final proposals. For limited submission proposals, it is the responsibility of the faculty member to check with the VPR office regarding internal deadlines and internal review processes before making plans to prepare proposals. Contact Jeffrey Plank, Associate Vice President.
