How to Report a Property Loss/Theft Claim
University owned, borrowed or leased property - other than licensed vehicles i.e. buildings, building contents including office equipment and non-licensed vehicles.
Losses due to damaged, destroyed or stolen property:
- Report directly and immediately to the Office of Risk Management at 434-924-3055.
- Complete and submit an Incident Report Form to the Office of Risk Management within 24 hours. Email: orm-frm@virginia.edu, Fax: 434-982-2635.
- If damage was caused by another party (non-UVa) in a criminal act or vehicle accident, contact the police to investigate and file a report.
- Complete the first two columns of the Property Claim Spreadsheet and submit to the Office of Risk Management with the Incident Report Form or as soon thereafter as possible.
