Prices include:
Photo D*1. Round trip Dulles-Valencia-Dulles .
2. Lodging in private homes as paying guests. Households will not house more than two students. Accomodation in double or single rooms according to availability.
3. Full board: 3 meals a day in the home.
4. Three day trips among the following: Cullera, Peñíscola, Sagunto, Xátiva.
5. Farewell banquet.
6. Standing assistance by the organizing team.

* Year tickets do not cover holiday travel. Definite departure details may vary according to flight availabilities.

** These prices do not include room, board, or accident insurance from December 20, 2007 through January 16, 2008. Accomodation with host families during this time must be arranged with Servicios de Programas Universitarios prior to the end of the Fall Semester.

Financial Information

Fees are to remitted as follows:

1. Non-refundable enrollment fee of $90 by check made payable to UVA Spanish Department.

2. The remainder of the total cost by checks made payable to UVA Hispanic Studies.

3. All checks are to be remitted along with the necessary papers to:

4. Students attending just the Fall semester must remit the total amount before July 7, 2008; those attending just Spring semester, before November 25, 2008.

5. Students attending both semesters must remit $12,370 before July 7, 2008. The remainder must be paid before November 25, 2008.

6. Between-semester accomodation with host families must be paid to Servicios de Programas Universitarios by November 25, 2008.

7. Withdrawals made prior to 30 days before departure date will not incur penalization. Withdrawals made within 30 days of departure date will incur a penalty of 15% of the total amount of the semester plus the cost of the airline ticket for students flying with the program.

8. If for any reason a student should leave the program once it has begun, s/he will lose all rights to a refund, and will receive only the return ticket.

9. If for any reason a student should not be at the airport on the day of departure, s/he must join the program by her/his own means, and loses the amount of the ticket paid.

10. All individual housing or transatlantic travel arrangements are subject to special approval and conditions set by program administration. Photo 9

11. The program administration reserves the right to terminate either extracurricular or complete participation of any student whose conduct is considered unacceptable or in detriment to the program.

12. Program prices have been established at an exchange rate of 1.29 dollars to the euro. If the rate of exchange decreases more than 5% from this figure, the prices will increase accordingly.

13. The cost of the airline ticket was set, according to fares in effect in June 2008. Variations that airline fares might experience up to departure date, may be reflected in the final price of the course.

14. Non-University of Virginia students should check with their own study abroad office for applications procedures and arrangements for payment.

15. Forwarding of transcipts will be pending receipt of all monies due to the UVa Hispanic Studies and affiliate services.

Extracurricular Activities

A number of extracurricular activities have been planned for during the term to help students get to know each other better and to help promote a collective Spanish social consciousness to the group as well as to each individual. Activities include trips to museums, monuments, historical sites and other places of interest.
