Cost Accounting Principles for Educational Institutions - This Circular establishes principles for determining costs applicable to grants, contracts, and other agreements with educational institutions . The principles deal with the subject of cost determination, and make no attempt to identify the circumstances or dictate the extent of agency and institutional participation in the financing of a particular project. The principles are designed to provide that the Federal Government bear its fair share of total costs, determined in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles, except where restricted or prohibited by law.

Federal Acquisition Regulations

Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR) - The FAR is the primary regulation for use by all Federal Executive agencies in their acquisition of supplies and services with appropriated funds. It became effective on April 1, 1984, and is issued within applicable laws under the joint authorities of the Administrator of General Services, the Secretary of Defense, and the Administrator for the National Aeronautics and Space Administration, under the broad policy guidelines of the Administrator, Office of Federal Procurement Policy, Office of Management and Budget.

National Institutes of Health (NIH) Grants Policy Statement (NIHGPS)

	The National Institutes of Health Grants Policy Statement (NIHGPS) is intended to make available to NIH grantees, in a single document, the policy requirements that serve as the terms and conditions of NIH grant awards.

National Science Foundation (NSF) Grants Policy Manual

	National Science Foundation (NSF) Grants Policy Manual - Please reference the Bookmark - 'Summary of Significant Changes'. This section will provide details on the inclusion of prior NSF guidance (The NSF Grant Policy Manual) into this new combined format.

Education Department General Administrative Regulations (EDGAR)

	Education Department General Administrative Regulations (EDGAR) - These regulations establish uniform administrative requirements for Federal grants and agreements.

Federal Demonstration Partnership

Federal Demonstration Partnership(FDP) - This is a cooperative initiative among Federal agencies and Institutional recipients of federal funds of which the University of Virginia is a member. Its purpose is to reduce the administrative burdens associated with research grants and contracts. The primary benefit to member institutions has been the simplified and streamlined General Terms and Conditions across FDP member federal agencies. There do exist some Agency Specific Regulations enacted by some of the Federal agencies participating in the partnership.
