BIG
TEN BURSAR BY-LAWS
Purpose
To
provide a common forum for discussing concerns and questions of
the membership.
To
share and exchange ideas on ways to handle a particular problem
or issue.
To
establish interpersonal relationships and friendships with colleagues
outside our institutions.
To
share technological advances of interest to peer schools.
Membership
All
Universities in the Big 10 Conference and the University of Chicago.

and honorary member with full participatory rights.
Vendors
Host
school may invite up to four vendors of their choice. The vendors
may sit in on the meetings and participate as appropriate.
Vendors
may sponsor meals or other social events during the conference or
the host school may determine the level and type of vendors support.
No formal advertising or product marketing will be allowed.
Each vendor is allowed one participant at each session.
School Participation
Each member school is limited to two participants at the meeting;
a primary member and associate member.
Each member school has equal participatory rights.
The University of Illinois may be represented by a primary member
from both the Urbana and Chicago campus' plus an associate member
from one campus.
Host Schools
The host school may invite up to three additional staff members
to sit in on any one session of the meeting. Additional staff members
may participate in the meeting as appropriate and as directed by
primary members.
The host school is responsible for making arrangements for the
meeting, setting the agenda, and conducting the meeting.
The host school will change each year.
Meeting
The meeting is limited to membership only.
Guest speakers may attend the meeting without participating rights.
Dress is casual, unless specified otherwise.
Length of the meeting will normally be 1 1/2 days.
The organization will meet annually at the discretion of the host
school. Historically the meeting is held in the Fall of each year.
Fees
A registration fee may be charged by the host school. This fee
should be kept to a minimum. The host school is not expected to
make a profit or absorb a loss on the meeting.
Excess funds are to be forwarded to the subsequent host school
to defray cost at next annual meeting.
Voting
From time to time, the organization may be asked to vote on a change
to the by-laws or on a particular issue of concern. Only the Bursar
or Senior member of the University attending the conference may
have voting rights. In the case of a tie vote, the host school will
provide the deciding vote. Only one vote for each school.
