  • FDA approves New indication for Gardasil to prevent Genital Warts in men and boys
Gardasil has been shown to protect males against most genital warts. This vaccine is available for boys and men, 9 through 26 years of age. HPV is the most common sexually transmitted infection in the United States, and most genital warts are caused by HPV infection.

The Aetna Student Health insurance plan will cover the cost of the 3 injection series, given over the course of 6 months. However, since this is a new indication for the vaccine, not all insurance companies will cover the cost at this time. To learn more about Gardasil go to www.cdc.gov/hpv.
