- Performed
in some offices or in ambulatory surgery centers
- Initially,
a local anesthetic is injected into the cervix.
- A
beam of light is then used to remove the abnormal area of the
cervix.
- New
healthy cells will grow back.
- Some
spotting and discharge may occur after the procedure.
- This
procedure is not widely used today due to high cost. LEEP is more
commonly used
