Counseling and Psychological Services (CAPS)
CAPS offers free brief individual therapy, couples therapy, group therapy, psychiatric medication services, 24-hour crisis consultation, outreach and programming, and referral services to U.Va. students.

Maxine Platzer Lynn Women’s Center
The Women’s Center provides free individual, couples and group counseling services to University of Virginia students, faculty and staff, as well as to members of the Charlottesville community, in addition to outreach, prevention, and leadership programs. Please call for an appointment.

The Center for Clinical Psychology Services- Sheila C. Johnson Center
The Center for Clinical Psychology Services housed in the Sheila C. Johnson Center offers therapy and psychological assessment services to U.Va. students and to the Charlottesville community on a sliding fee scale or through health insurance based on service type.

U.Va. Faculty & Employee Assistance Program (FEAP)
FEAP provides free, brief (1-3 sessions) assessment, crisis intervention & counseling services to all faculty, staff (including student employees) of the Medical Center and University and their family members. A trauma clinician provides counseling services for up to 12 sessions.

The Medical Center and Emergency Department offer emergency services for medical and mental health/psychiatric crises and inpatient treatment within their Psychiatric/Behavioral Medicine Unit.

Neurocognitive Assessment Laboratory
The Neurocognitive Assessment Laboratory offers neurocognitive assessment of cognitive deficits with suggestions for treatment and rehabilitation. It accepts insurance and out-of-pocket payment.

Behavioral Medicine Center
The Behavioral Medicine Center provides tailored psychotherapy to patients with eating disorders, OCD, phobias, other anxiety disorders, habit control problems (e. g., trichotillomania), depression, and adjustment disorders. It also provides services to problems related to medical illnesses such as, encopresis, enuresis, sexual dysfunction, obesity, hypertension, headaches, cardiovascular disease, TMD, and tic disorders. It accepts insurance and out-of-pocket payment.
