Psychiatric Hospitalization

When a student's condition is acute and hospitalization is required, CAPS professionals will facilitate hospitalization at a site best suited to the student's needs and resources. During a students hospitalization, CAPS provides inpatient liaison services. These liaison services entail conferring with inpatient staff and, in cases of local hospitalization, meeting with a student during his/her hospital stay in order to assist with discharge planning and facilitate the student's transition back into the University community or elsewhere, depending upon the final case disposition.
