The Vice President and Chief Student Affairs Officer oversees the student health insurance program. The Student Health Insurance Committee (“SHIC”), which consists of faculty, students, and staff, serves as an advisory body to the Vice President.  Each year, in consultation with the SHIC, the Vice President makes a recommendation to the University's Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer regarding the benefit structure and premiums of the student health plan for the upcoming plan year.  The University's President has final authority with regard to the recommendation.  The Department of Student Health works closely with the insurance provider that is selected in the administration of the student health plan.
