Who may use Student Health Services?
Students who pay the comprehensive student fee with tuition are eligible to receive care at Student Health during the fall and spring semesters. Students in the School of Continuing and Professional Studies are not eligible for services.
Students who are not enrolled in a summer session but who plan to return for the fall semester may pay a summer fee at the time of their first visit during the summer. This fee covers visits for 30 days. Spring semester graduates must conclude care the week following graduation.
Services provided by Elson Student Health Center are designed to help you maintain your health through education and prevention and to restore your health when necessary by treatment of illness, injury or stress. We want to be your partners in wellness, to increase your appreciation of the importance of healthful behaviors and to teach you how to care for yourself and how to be an effective consumer of health care resources.
University’s Diversity Statement
Diversity stands with ethics, integrity, and academic excellence, as a cornerstone of University culture. The University promotes an inclusive and welcoming environment that embraces the full spectrum of human attributes, perspectives, and disciplines. When people of different backgrounds come together, they exchange ideas, question assumptions (including their own), and broaden the horizons for us all. A University of Virginia community rich in diversity affords every member equal respect – and provides a forum for understanding our differences as well as our commonalities.
