Anne Stephens '05 CLAS
"I give to allow future generations of students to make the most of their time at U.Va. through unparalleled academic resources with the best professors, strong and varied programs, and access to international opportunities. I hope that many more students that graduate after my class will be able to look back on their time with fond memories of a particular class, professor, or academic experience. I know that I always smile when I think about my four years in Charlottesville." |

Melissa Meyers '02 CLAS
"I consistently give to the University because I am thankful for the many professional opportunities my education has afforded me. Without U.Va.'s reputation for academic excellence, I don't think I would have the career I have today. I want to ensure that U.Va. continues to be a top-tier institution, and I want to do everything I can to make certain that recent graduates have all the opportunities available to them that were available to me when I graduated." |

Heather Jones '00 CLAS
"While at U.Va., Madison House provided opportunities for me to learn about the world through community service. The knowledge I gained while logging hours tutoring, comforting kids at the hospital, and working on houses during Spring Break were as educational as many of my classes. There is no better way to support my passion of helping others than to give back to Madison House through the MY-D-CAV program. By doing so, I enable current students to benefit from similar life changing and joyous experiences." |

Adam Trusner ’02 CLAS, ’05 GSAS, ’06 LAW
"U.Va. has given me an excellent education and the thrill of ACC athletics, and I thought it was crucial to start giving back the moment I left Charlottesville. That's why I decided to give to U.Va. and to the VAF." |

"I feel that I have a tremendous opportunity to shape the institution that has so positively shaped me. By contributing as a young alumnus and current graduate student, I'm helping to promote research programs, teaching initiatives, and infrastructure improvements that will maintain our University's excellence across disciplines." |

Jenny Chow '03 COMM
"I'm where I am now because of the relationships and the opportunities created at U.Va. I've always believed that you should never forget the people and the places that have helped you along your way. I encourage others to do the same and become a part of the MY-D-CAV program."

Who Else is Giving?
Amanda Richardson
"U.Va. made me the person I am, and it's such a large part of my life," says Amanda. "When I graduated, I didn't want to let it go." She now serves as co-chair of the McIntire Young Alumni Council (MYAC). She says MYAC allows her to give back in meaningful ways, such as mentoring students by sharing her experiences.
"McIntire's corporate and alumni donors provided me with an unparalleled undergraduate experience, and I hope to return the favor," she says. "Alumni don't realize how their gifts, even if small, affect the University. This is my chance to have my impact."
Andrew T. Call
"Since I was a young boy I've come to know Alderman quite well, having visited it with my father, who wanted to introduce me to the Library and its many resources," recounts Andrew, who became a regular in the Library's stacks as a History major specializing in American business history. That's just one reason this recent graduate has chosen to give back to Alderman Library.
Devoted to "leaving behind a legacy," Andrew made a gift to establish the Andrew T. Call Business History Fund at Alderman Library. "It's my philanthropic duty to give back to aspects of the University that have given so much to me," he says. "The University has offered me numerous opportunities, and this is my chance to return the favor, making it even better than when I left it."
Benjamin H. Levy III
If you ask Benjamin, he'll list many reasons why he has chosen to give back to the University: "Memories of the Lawn, the uniqueness of our honor code, enduring friendships with students and professors, our stellar pre-medical program, the McIntire Department of Music, U.Va. athletics..."
"I hope that my contributions lead to a larger endowment for classroom facilities, professor salaries, scholarship opportunities, and the arts," he explains. "I urge my fellow young alumni to show their financial support for the place we all love." Whether that support is $20 or $200 just doesn't matter. It's the participation that counts, argues Benjamin, who says his experiences at the University shaped him enormously. "The University of Virginia prepares her students to be ambitious, caring, and innovative leaders," he says. |
