Albemarle County will conduct a telephone survey of randomly selected residents starting this week to measure citizen satisfaction with government services and to get input on community goals and priorities as part of the county’s ongoing strategic planning process. Results of the citizen survey will play a key role in determining areas of emphasis as the plan continues to be developed and implemented.
The County conducted a similar survey in 2002, and results of that initial survey played a key role in determining areas of emphasis for the county’s strategic planning efforts. Complete results of the survey can be found on the County website at www.albemarle.org.
The survey, designed in consultation with the University of Virginia’s
Center for Survey Research (CSR), will consist of an approximately 18 minute
phone call during which respondents will be asked a series of questions about
their experiences with county government as well as about how satisfied they
are with the county’s efforts to achieve its strategic goals. The survey itself is being administered by
the CSR, and survey callers will identify themselves as being with that
organization.
Approximately 700 residents, chosen at random by the CSR to reflect a statistically significant profile of the county, will be surveyed by phone beginning this week. County officials expect the phone calls to be completed by July 15, with results of the survey to be available by September of this year.
