U.Va.'s Approach to Managing Stormwater Earns National Honor
The University of Virginia and Nitsch Engineering of Boston have received a landscape architecture merit award from the Society for College and University Planning for the Meadow Creek Regional Stormwater Management Master Plan.

2008 Virginia Recycling Association Outstanding University Program
In 2007 Dining and Housing each received special recognition from the Virginia Department of Environmental Quality (DEQ), by receiving the Environmental Enterprise (E2) certification under the Virginia Environmental Excellence Program (VEEP).
In 2006 Parking and Transportation became the first department at the University to receive special recognition from the Virginia Department of Environmental Quality (DEQ), by receiving the Environmental Enterprise (E2) certification under the Virginia Environmental Excellence Program (VEEP). Planned for 2008-09 are programs for car- and van-pool incentives with continued consumer education efforts to influence commuter behavior in a measurable way.
2001 ENERGY STAR Partner of the Year Award
The 2001 ENERGY STAR Partner of the Year award, was presented by EPA Administrator Christine Todd Whitman. UVA won the award for "its outstanding commitment to pollution prevention through continuous improvement of the University's energy management practices.
