C. THOMAS FAULDERS III, A 1971 GRADUATE OF THE University of Virginia, has been selected as president and chief executive officer of the U.Va. Alumni Association by the association’s board of managers. Faulders will assume his position by early March. He will succeed current president Jack Syer, who will retire after a transition period. Recruiters from University Human Resources will host a brownbag lunch today from noon to 1 p.m. at 108 Clark Hall for applicants and potential applicants for job openings at the University. The event, which is free and open to the public, includes a brief presentation followed by a question-and-answer session. Attendees are welcome to bring their own food and drink. Dr. Cato Laurencin, Lillian T. Pratt Distinguished Professor and Chair of the University of Virginia Department of Orthopaedic Surgery, has won the prestigious Nicolas Andry Award from the Association of Bone and Joint Surgeons. The award honors work that has contributed significantly to orthopaedic surgery knowledge and practice. Dr. Laurencin is internationally known for his work in the field of tissue engineering and regenerative medicine. Full Story.
