How many more e-mails
about generic Viagra can one stand? Are you tired
of having your e-mail box inundated with spam,
otherwise known as unsolicited email? Welcome
SpamAssassin. U.Va.’s Information, Technology
and Communication department has added this software
program to its Central Mail Server, which scans
incoming e-mail for signs of spam. Potential spam
then goes to a separate folder, where the customer
can examine the messages at their convenience.

An
architectural masterpiece in the making, The Mary
and David Harrison Institute for American History,
Literature and Culture and the Albert and Shirley
Small Special Collections Library will open its
doors this fall. The four-level, 72,700-square-foot
project is unique in that it’s 80 percent
underground. “It is the most beautiful building
on Grounds, next to the Rotunda,” said Jeanne
M. Hammer, coordinator of capital projects for
