Teaching + Technology Applications Due Feb. 9

Faculty who have innovative ideas about integrating teaching and technology may want to consider applying for a Teaching+Technology Initiative Fellowship for 2004-05. The purpose of the program is to promote interdisciplinary discussions of effective teaching and the development of methods for teaching with technology that can be adapted by other faculty. It is open to faculty members in any school at the University. Full story.

Theodore Roosevelt’s Era and the Beginning of the Modern Presidency
Teddy Roosevelt at his desk Theodore Roosevelt’s strong stance on campaign finance reform, his goal of national greatness and forceful use of executive power played a key part in the transformation of the American presidency, said Sidney K. Milkis, U.Va.’s James Hart Professor of Government and Foreign Affairs and a senior scholar at the Miller Center of Public Affairs. Roosevelt’s presidency still seems relevant in today’s American politics, Milkis said. Full story.
