In
a Feb. 27 story about the University of Virginia's decision to stop
using dogs in medical school classes, The Associated Press erroneously
quoted a representative of the animal rights group PETA using the
term euthanasia. Peter Wood said he did not use that word in an
interview praising the move. "We think it's great that for
now, animal suffering and death is no longer a part of medical education
at U.Va," according to a statement from People for the Ethical
Treatment of Animals.
