PETE
GILLEN (left), head coach for U.Va.’s
men’s basketball, stepped down Monday
from the position he has held for the past
seven years. After the team’s 2004-2005
season, Gillen felt the time was right to
step aside, according to Craig K. Littlepage,
U.Va.’s director of athletics. “There
is, however, a solid foundation in place
provided by Pete and his staff. We have good
young players in the program who will provide
us the opportunity for success,” said
Littlepage. Full
