The President’s Report provides a summary of the major events and stories of the previous fiscal year along with detailed financial reports. This year’s 74-page report, covering July 2004 through June 2005, has just been published and is now available online at http://www.virginia. edu/president/report05/index.html. The report features a round-up of new hires, major awards, student achievements, cutting-edge scholarship and new construction on grounds. Selected works of art by members of the studio art faculty introduce each section of the publication.

Warning to hard-core U.Va. traditionalists: What follows may upset you. Simply put, the University is changing—and has been for decades. So, too, is the Honor System. While polls find that students endorse an honor system in concept, they appear less willing to hold each other accountable, preferring to leave the heavy lifting to an increasingly skeptical faculty.
