New Book by U.Va. Sociologist Says Teenage Behavior Makes Sense

Freaks, Geeks, and Cool KidsWHAT IS IT WITH TEENAGERS? For decades, their behaviors have perplexed American parents. Milner, a U.Va. sociologist, sheds some light on what goes on in the hearts and minds of today’s teenagers, and why social status is important to so many of them. Full story.

Don’t Worry, Get Screened: Colon Cancer is Preventable

Colon cancer can be prevented, but only if the polyps that cause it are detected early on. That’s why screenings are so important. It’s recommended that people age 50 and older be screened. Doctors and nurses at U.Va.’s Digestive Health Center of Excellence can help patients choose which screening option is best for them. The procedure can be done in as little as 15 minutes and most people won’t have to get another one for 10 years. Full story.
