Agreement Allows for Transfer of U.Va. Graduate Credit Into Mary Washington College’s MBA Program

A NEW PARTNERSHIP between U.Va. and Mary Washington College will allow the transfer of 12 U.Va. graduate credits — double the previous amount allowed — earned in three graduate certificate programs at the U.Va. School of Continuing and Professional Studies’ Northern Virginia Center into MWC’s MBA program. The agreement will increase opportunities for students at both institutions, which is what higher education is all about, said Steve Gladis, associate dean of U.Va.’s School of Continuing Education and Professional Studies. U.Va. Health System to Host Health Gathering Designed for Women

The Women’s Place at U.Va.’s Health System will present a daylong program on Saturday, “Get Informed, Take Charge: A Women’s Health Gathering,” that examines women’s health issues and includes health screenings, informative talks and seminars. This year’s keynote speaker, Dr. Anne McTiernan, will discuss women and exercise. Full story.

Old Buildings on U.Va. Grounds Gain New Worth

A number of U.Va.’s older buildings have recently been recognized for their historical value. McCormick Observatory (above) and its neighbor Alden House, Memorial Gymnasium and the Monroe Hill buildings were named as additions to the Virginia Landmarks Register. Full story.
