Come
Saturday, when Bobbi VanHuss receives her
degree in business administration from
U.Va.’s College at Wise, she’ll
be setting the stage for others to come
after her. The wheelchair-bound VanHuss

used her experiences as a disabled student
to turn the negative into positive by helping
administrators find solutions to accessibility

After
two attempts at pursuing his college education,
transfer student Matt Bulloch finally found
the fit he was looking for at U.Va. A strong
commitment to serving others had led the
well-versed young man on many diverse paths — from
being a firefighter to serving in the Virginia
National Guard to mentoring fellow U.Va.
transfer students. After he earns his U.Va.
degree this weekend, Bulloch will continue
to serve as a member of the New York National
Guard. Full

There
is a world of difference in the Claudia
Aguilar that first came to U.Va. and the
Claudia Aguilar that will walk U.Va.’s
Lawn on Sunday. Once unsure of her identity,
the Bolivian native now knows exactly who
she is and plans to follow her passion
for humanity by becoming a teacher of elementary
schoolchildren at an inner-city school. “I
really want to give back right now. My
heart is telling me to do this,” said
Aguilar. Full
