U.Va. Ranked among Top Universities Nationwide in Magazine’s Survey of Nanotechnology Programs

THE UNIVERSITY OF VIRGINIA has been recognized as one of the top 10 universities in the country for the strength of its micro- and nanotechnology programs in Small Times magazine’s second annual survey of research universities. “I am thrilled by this news. At the U.Va. Engineering School, we are striving to put not only the research and education programs, but also the specialized facilities in place to establish us among the very best engineering schools in the critically important field of nanotechnology,” said engineering dean James H. U.Va. Nurses Honored as Winners of this Year’s Circle of Excellence Awards

For their exemplary talent, dedication and professionalism, four registered nurses and one team of registered nurses at the University of Virginia Health System have been chosen to receive the American Association of Critical-Care Nurses (AACN) Circle of Excellence Awards. The largest specialty nursing organization in the world, AACN represents the interests of more than 400,000 nurses who are charged with the responsibility of caring for the most critically ill patients. U.Va.’s ‘Style of Power’ Exhibit Shows How Upstart Americans Established International Credentials

“Style of Power”After defeating the British in the Revolutionary War, America was faced with the challenge of establishing itself in the international arena as a player with staying power. “The Style of Power: Building a New Nation,” an exhibit currently on display in the main exhibit gallery of the Mary and David Harrison Institute for American History, Literature and Culture and the Albert and Shirley Small Special Collections Library at the University of Virginia, shows how America relied heavily on Old-World European traditions in establishing its new nation.  Full story.
