Study-Abroad Program Gives Students Clearer Picture of the World

“AN EYE-OPENING EXPERIENCE” is how one U.Va. student describes his spring semester at Denmark’s International Study Program in Copenhagen. Known for its academic integrity, size of the city and small classes, the program is not just about bringing the classroom to Europe, but making Europe a classroom, says Anders Uhrskor, director of DIS. The goal of the program is to offer students a real-world perspective, rather than just teaching them from books. Full story.

Exhibit Highlighting the Creation of U.Va.’s Library Now on Display

Learn about the history of the U.Va. Library through the exhibit, “Building the University of Virginia Library,” which tells the library’s story from its placement “at the Head of the Lawn” by University founder Thomas Jefferson in the early 19th century to its presence in the global community through the digital initiatives of the 21st century. On display through Aug. 27, the exhibit features historic drawings and photographs from the University archives. Full story.

U.Va.’s Heritage Repertory Theatre Winds Down Season Featuring Four Plays

“Driving Miss Daisy”“Driving Miss Daisy” (right), “Snoopy!!!,” “True West” and Five Guys Named Moe” are the four plays that remain in repertory through Aug. 7, as the U.Va. Heritage Repertory Theatre season comes to a close. All plays are performed in Culbreth Theatre, except for “Snoopy!!!,” which is performed in Helms Theatre.
