Extra body fat isn’t attractive to those who have it, but it is proving phat to national and international scientists. U.Va.’s Health System researchers are part of a collaboration whose findings suggest that fat stem cells can be used to repair or regenerate new blood vessels, nerves, bones and other tissue. They will present their findings during the third annual International Fat Applied Technology Society conference at the Omni Hotel in Charlottesville Sept. 10-13. Full story.
