In an article titled "U.Va. Selects Design Finalists" in
the Sept. 9 edition of the Daily Progress several errors
were made regarding the University's Center for the Arts
architect selection competition. The committee itself is
chaired by University Provost Gene Block, not President John
T. Casteen III. The four finalists are: London-based Foster
and Partners in partnership with Charlottesville's VMDO Architects;
the partnership of William Rawn Associates, Architects, Kyu
Sung Woo Architects, and Glave & Holmes Associates; Robert
A.M. Stern Architects; and Rafael Vinoly Architects. Vinoly
had been omitted from the article.
Also, the South Lawn Project, also referenced in this
story, is not a design competition. Architects will
be chosen through regular procurement procedures.
