U.Va. Health Plan Will Now Offer Employees Two Payment Options

U.VA. EMPLOYEES WILL soon be able to choose between two health insurance programs under the Health Plan administered by Southern Health. One offers lower monthly premiums with required payment of some fees; the other has higher premiums, but payments for diagnostic tests and X-rays stay the same as the current plan. Band Director Gives Students Game Plan      Legal  System Has Lost Its ‘Common Sense’     Civil Rights Leader to Speak at U.Va.

William Pease found an eager audience among students when he came to Grounds recently to talk about U.Va.’s new marching band. Pease said he’ll provide the game plan, but students will have a large role in coming up with the plays. Full story.

Americans have a wavering trust of the legal system as they increasingly fall susceptible to frivolous lawsuits, according to Philip K. Howard, founder of The Common Good. He recently spoke at U.Va.’s Law School. Full story.

Civil rights activist Dorothy I. Height will speak at U.Va. Friday. Her talk coincides with a gift to the University Library of historic documents related to “Wednesdays in Mississippi.” A reception and book signing will follow. Full story.
