Lawmakers must commit to investing more in transportation, the most pressing
issue as Virginia's population soars, Gov. Timothy M. Kaine told a crowded
class at the University of Virginia on Wednesday...During the governor's
visit to Larry J. Sabato's Introduction to American Politics class, Kaine
outlined his solution to what he called "the most urgent matter facing
the state." Every sitting governor since 1978 has visited Sabato's
popular class.

Gov. Timothy M. Kaine announced yesterday the reappointment of three University
of Virginia board of visitors members and the addition of an Alexandria
businessman. Kaine chose Daniel R. Abramson of Alexandria... Abramson is
principal of Abramson Properties, a real estate development firm. He graduated
from the university in 1970 with a bachelor's degree in psychology. "I'm
flattered and honored and humbled by the appointment and excited about
the prospect of serving the university, a place that I love," Abramson
said.

STUDY FINDS TWO SUPERMASSIVE BLACK HOLES SPIRALING TOWARD COLLISION

A pair of supermassive black holes in the distant universe are intertwined
and spiraling toward a merger that will create a single super-supermassive
black hole capable of swallowing billions of stars, according to a new
study by astronomers at the University of Virginia, Bonn University and
the U.S. Naval Research Laboratory. The study appears in the April 6, 2006
issue of the journal Astronomy & Astrophysics.
