U.Va.
Series On Educational Issues Starts By Addressing Historical Themes
Sept. 3, 1999 -- The University of Virginia's
Curry School of Education will present a series of talks this fall
addressing issues expected to be prominent in the new century. All
talks in the 1999 Curry Forum on Educational Issues, titled "Educational
Policy Issues for the 21st Century," will be held
Wednesdays at 1 p.m. in Room 004C of Ruffner Halls ground
floor.
At
the first talk on Sept. 8, U.Va. professor Jennings Wagoner of the
Curry Schools Department of Leadership, Foundations, and Policy
will examine recurring historical issues in education and discuss
the possibility of new themes emerging in the coming century.
Future
sessions will address educational challenges of the 21st
century, youth violence, technology and charter schools. The Curry
Forum was established six years ago as a graduate-level class to
address state and national education topics.
