650 International Business Executives At Darden For Summer Management Programs June 18, 1999 -- More than 650 senior executives will head back to school as participants in one of 18 management development programs offered by the University of Virginia's Darden Graduate School of Business Administration this summer. The Executive Program, Darden's six-week management program, began its 42nd session on June 1. Executives from around the world will participate in a variety of learning experiences, such as individual presentations, team learning, computer simulation exercises, lectures, and multimedia cases. Throughout the summer, Darden will offer a mix of customized and open-enrollment management programs. Programs have been specially designed for seven global business organizations: the Bahrain Institute of Banking and Finance; Compaq Computer Corporation; Goodyear Tire & Rubber Co.; Martin Marietta Materials; Owens & Minor; State Farm Insurance Cos.; and United Technologies Corp. Open enrollment Executive Education programs include: Bargaining & Negotiation: A Learning Laboratory; Business-to-Business Marketing Management; Investment Banking: Value Creation and Deal Evaluation; Managing Critical Resources; Managing Individual and Organizational Change; Multiparty Negotiations; Strategic Cost Management: Tools for Improving Financial Performance; and Strategic Sales Management. Offered again this summer are three specialized programs: the Minority Business Executive Program; Defense Acquisition Executives-U.S. Army; and Emerging Political Leaders. Since 1955, the Darden School has offered management development programs that have been internationally recognized for excellence in teaching and curriculum design. Darden's Executive Education division offers more than 100 programs throughout the year, enrolling more than 4,000 managers and executives annually.
