Emily
Couric To Speak Nov. 21 About Education Issues
Nov. 17, 1999 -- State Sen. Emily Couric will
speak on Sunday, Nov. 21, at a ceremony honoring current and future
teachers. The event will start at 2 p.m. in the Rotunda at the University
of Virginia.
Couric
will address local teachers and U.Va. Curry School of Education
students who will be inducted that afternoon into Kappa Delta Pi,
the international honors fraternity for educators.
The
teachers to be inducted at the ceremony are Marjorie Clifton, Greer
Elementary School, and Kimberly Geer, Agnor/Hurt Elementary School.
About
25 U.Va. students, including those in the Curry Schools five-year
teacher-preparation program and those completing the Masters
of Teaching degree program, will be recognized at the ceremony.
The parents and families of those being honored will also attend
the ceremony.
